Gratitude That Keeps Me Moving

When I first committed to running the 2026 Boston Marathon with the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team, I knew it would be big—big miles, big goals, big impact. But what I didn’t expect was just how overwhelming the fundraising and training would feel at times. The pressure of hitting milestones, the early alarms, the cold runs, and the constant worry of “Am I doing enough?” became a lot to carry on my own.

And then you showed up.

Over these past few weeks, the outpouring of support—from donations to messages to simple “You’ve got this!” encouragement—has lifted me in ways I can’t fully put into words. Every contribution, every kind note, every share, every cheer… it’s been a reminder that this isn’t just my journey. It’s ours.

I’ve been genuinely moved by how many people have stepped forward to support cancer research through Dana-Farber and to support me as I take on this challenge. Your generosity hasn’t just helped me get closer to my fundraising goal—it has quieted the stress that was weighing me down and replaced it with energy, motivation, and so much gratitude.

On the days when training feels tough, I think about the names behind each donation. I think about the stories, the memories, the strength, and the hope that fuel this mission. And I’m reminded exactly why I’m doing this.

So thank you—truly—to everyone who has donated, encouraged, or stood behind me already. Your support is what keeps my feet moving forward. Your kindness is what pushes me up the hills. And your belief in me is what will carry me all the way to the finish line on Boylston Street.

This marathon is bigger than 26.2 miles. It’s connection, community, and compassion in motion. And I’m honored to have you running right beside me.

With so much gratitude,
Sarah
