The Northeast was covered in a pile of snow a few weekends ago. It was enough snow to cover streets, sidewalks, trees… and the temps haven’t risen enough to make short work of clearing these areas.
Luckily, I have been able to get my running done by heading downstairs to the treadmill. I logged two long runs downstairs and several shorter runs and this Sunday, I was over it. I was over trying to find a course that “spoke” to me and was long enough for my run- messing with different settings when you are in the zone completely shatters the zone and my motivation.
This Sunday was not an epic run. It was a taper week to lead in to the half marathon this upcoming weekend. For the first two miles I found all the things I could to change. Shoes, go the bathroom, different snack, different music. After telling myself I needed to get on with it and finding a course that would work for the remaining miles, I did it!
Sometimes showing up is hard but it is important to find consistency and challenge yourself to push on.
Wishing you are all logging your miles safely and staying warm!
